Tropical Basic Offshore Safety Induction Emergency Training (T-BOSIET)
OPITO Approved
The T-BOSIET was designed to meet the core competence and safety training requirements that are relative to all the tropical warm water operating areas of the offshore oil and gas industry. Tropical warm water operating areas are defined as those areas within the geographical domain of the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn; however, areas out with this domain with a consistent water temperature in excess of 590 F./150 C. may also be included.
Upon completion of this three-day course, the participant will have an awareness of the generic hazards and associated risks encountered when working on offshore installations and the generic safety regimes and safety management systems in place to control and mitigate risks associated with hazards.
T-BOSIET also provides the participant with a range of knowledge and skills relevant to traveling offshore by helicopter and working offshore, including safety induction, fire safety and basic firefighting; first aid; helicopter safety and escape; and survival at sea.
Upon completion, the certificate is valid for four years.
